Alarm Installation, Service, and Monitoring
We want you to feel safe
Our mission is to provide excellent customer service and to improve the safety and security of our clients. We have been installing alarms for homes and businesses in Southern Arizona for over 14 years. In addition to alarm system installations, we also provide the monitoring service from a local, Tucson monitoring station.
All of our alarm technicians are licensed and have their fingerprints on file with the City of Tucson. They have all passed rigorous background checks as well. Pequot Communications is fully licensed, bonded and insured and registered with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, ROC License #201444.
Alarm System Overview
Alarm systems can be wired, wireless, or a combination of both. They basically consist of a control panel (the alarm brains), a keypad (the part that tells the brain what to do), the zones (areas you want to protect), and a siren.
The number of windows, doors and open spaces (zones), and how you want to protect them, will determine the type of alarm panel to use for your home or business. All individual zones in a home or business should be protected whenever possible. Leaving a door or window unprotected is not recommended.
Common Alarm Events
A burglary alarm event is typically a violation of a zone while the system is armed. You can arm the alarm system and then leave, but you can also arm it and then remain in the building. Arming the alarm while you are still in the building (stay mode) is a particularly comforting feature if you live alone, or work alone late into the evening, or just want to have the peace of mind knowing that you can sleep at night without worrying about a trespasser sneaking in while you are there.
A distress signal event is usually associated with a medical emergency or pressing a “panic button”. Pressing the Medical, Fire, or Police button on the alarm keypad or your wireless key fob will instantly send the signal to the monitoring station whether you have armed the alarm system or not.
Alarm Monitoring Service
When the monitored alarm system sends a signal to the monitoring station [http://securityserv.net], the main purpose of the alarm monitoring service is to provide a timely and accurate response to the event. No matter what type of signal the alarm system sends, our professionally screened and trained dispatch operators will handle the response by quickly contacting the proper authorities.
